We welcome you to join the America’s Boating Club of Sarasota, the Sarasota Power & Sail Squadron. We are one of the largest squadrons in the national club with about 325 members. 350 squadrons make up the United States Power Squadron, Inc. with a total membership of over 20,000. There are also squadrons in Canada, Puerto Rico and other Caribbean Islands.

Membership gives you opportunities to engage with your boating friends, while our educational programs endeavor to teach a high level of expertise in handling both power and sail boats. In addition, we seek to connect with our Sarasota community by offering classes and seminars at various locations such as yacht clubs and schools and supporting various community charities.

After completing the application form and paying for your annual dues, you will be assigned a certificate number and registered to receive the USPS national magazine, The Ensign, and their electronic newsletter, COMPASSThe certificate number will allow you to take member courses and provide access to member only areas on the National website. Within 7-10 working days you will receive a new member’s kit and your membership card.

SPSS members freely give of their time to teach, conduct vessel safety check inspections, participate in cooperative charting surveys and enjoy the life-long friendships of fellow power boaters and sailors.
