SPSS Activities

We enjoy the friendship and camaraderie on-the-water and off with fellow members who are skilled in boating. We have many opportunities for safe boating fun with scheduled day, weekend, and longer trips throughout the year. Going as a group affords us “safety in numbers” while, at the same time, allows us to enjoy the company of fellow boaters. Other activities include monthly Cruise & Rendezvous which are held at on-the-water locations, raft-ups, and navigation contests. Check out all that is planned on the Boating Calendar.

We have weekly luncheons at Marina Jack Restaurant on Thursdays with the exception of major holidays. The luncheons offer a choice of hot meal, sandwiches, or fruit plate and always include a guest speaker (except for occasional Business Meetings). Several parties/dinners are scheduled throughout the year at various locations.  Check out our Social Calendar for more information!

Here are the upcoming guest luncheon speakers:

Jan 2 – No Luncheon

Jan 9 – Terri Holsinger from Friendship Force Sarasota who will speak to us about forging friendships in support of global unity.

Jan 16 – Danny Moroney, President and CEO of Hope Fleet, currently involved in rescue operations for Bahamas after the hurricane

Jan 23 – Mike Halpin from Sarasota K9 Search and Rescue. They work to find the lost and return them to their homes.

Jan 26 – Change of Watch at Bird Key Yacht Club.  See the South Wind for more information

Jan 30 – Marjorie Broughton, Executive Director of Meals on Wheels.
